1. Purpose of Verification
Upfoundly uses verification measures to reduce fraud and improve donor trust. Verification does not guarantee a campaign’s success or the conduct of its creator.
2. Types of Verification
We may perform one or more of the following checks:
- Identity verification of the campaign creator;
- Verification of organizational documents (for charities/NGOs);
- Review of campaign description and media for policy compliance;
- Risk-based monitoring of donation patterns.
3. What Verification Does Not Mean
Verification is not an endorsement, guarantee, or certification by Upfoundly that:
- The campaign will reach its goal;
- Funds will be used exactly as described;
- Any rewards or promises will be fulfilled.
4. When a Campaign May Be Reviewed or Re-Verified
Campaigns may be re-verified or reviewed when:
- We receive user reports or concerns;
- Unusual account or funding activity is detected;
- Substantial changes are made to the campaign scope.
5. Possible Outcomes of Verification
Based on the results, we may:
- Allow the campaign to continue;
- Ask for additional documents or clarification;
- Temporarily pause donations;
- Remove the campaign or suspend the account;
- Notify payment providers or authorities when necessary.
6. Donor Responsibility
Donors should always perform their own assessment of campaigns and only contribute amounts they can afford to lose. Verification is one layer of protection, not a substitute for personal judgment.
