Early this morning on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, my husband’s Aunt, Doris Jelleyman-Lewis, received the call that her youngest daughter had unexpectedly passed away.
Lauren Jelleyman was only 33 years old and deeply loved by her friends and family. She was talented, fiercely loyal, loving, and incredibly caring. Her nieces and nephews meant the world to her and were one of the brightest parts of her life. She was a free spirit who touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
No mother should have to bury their child, but there’s something especially painful about having to face that nightmare right in the middle of the holiday season. This should be the time when families are making memories and enjoying their loved ones, not receiving the call that every parent dreads.
To make matters worse, since Lauren was so young, there was no life insurance or savings set aside for any of this. Her mother is frantically trying to come up with the money to cremate and have her daughter’s remains laid to rest beside Lauren’s stepfather – who she was incredibly close to, and who had passed away just recently.
The funeral home has graciously offered to receive donations towards the cost of cremation and placing Lauren beside her stepfather. The cost is just shy of $4,000.00 for everything.
I’m praying we can all give what we can to help this grieving mother during the one time of year where we are all reminded of how important giving is. She can’t do this without a miracle. I’m hoping we can all be the miracle she’s looking for since she’s already having to face the most heartbreaking loss a parent can imagine.
If you would rather donate directly to the funeral home, please call Goldsteins' Rosenberg's Funeral Directors at (215) 927-5800, and let them know you will be donating towards the costs of Lauren Jelleyman.
You can also send donations directly to Doris Jelleyman-Lewis at her Cashapp: $290Flyers (the Cashapp account is a shared account between her and her husband. It’s in her husband’s name, William Lewis).
Thank you so much for anything you can give – no amount is too small – it all makes a difference. If you’re unable to donate right now, we completely understand. We know finances are tight for everyone, especially during this time of year, but you can STILL help by praying for this family and sharing this fundraiser. The more eyes we have on it, the better the chances we have of giving this grieving family a little bit of grace in the midst of an absolute nightmare.
