Meet Lee Ann Larkan. She is a 59-year-old grandmother to Shepherd, Sophie, and Laine. She is a devoted wife to David, a police Lieutenant at Camp Robinson. She is a loving mother to a son who calls her every single day from Florida. And right now, she is a Stage 4 metastatic liver cancer patient who refuses to give up.
Lee Ann wants to be here to watch her grandchildren grow up. She wants to celebrate their milestones, pour love into them, and be the grandmother they deserve. But she needs our help to get the treatment that could save her life.
This Is Not Her First Battle
Nine years ago, Lee Ann survived what should have killed her.
After two years of being misdiagnosed with everything from autoimmune disorders to menopause symptoms, surgeons finally discovered an inoperable cervical tumor. What followed was months of aggressive chemotherapy and radiation. She went five days a week, week after week. It destroyed her immune system and ravaged her body.
But she survived.
Through it all, her husband David never left her side. David is a retired North Little Rock Police officer and K9 handler with his bomb dog, Valor. He carried her when she could not walk. He encouraged her when she wanted to quit. He fought for her when she was too weak to fight for herself.
And he is doing it again.
David currently serves as a Lieutenant at Camp Robinson, where he continues his lifetime of service to our community. Now he is standing in the gap for his wife and fighting alongside her once more.
The Diagnosis That Changed Everything
On December 12, 2025, Lee Ann received devastating news. It was Stage 4 metastatic liver cancer. There were masses in her liver and lymph nodes.
For months, she had been dealing with daily pain, nausea, extreme exhaustion, and fever. Even so, she continued working as our Senior Sales Representative at Patriot Roofing for as long as she possibly could. That is who Lee Ann is. She never stops showing up for others.
As her pastor at Unlimited Church in Maumelle for the past four years, I have watched Lee Ann serve our community with quiet strength and unwavering faith. She has been there for others during their darkest moments. Now she is the one who needs us.
Why She Is Choosing a Different Path
After surviving aggressive chemo and radiation once, and living with the lasting damage it caused, Lee Ann has made an informed decision. She is pursuing integrative cancer treatment that heals her body rather than destroys it.
After much prayer, medical consultation, and research, she has chosen Oasis of Hope Hospital in Tijuana, Mexico. This is a licensed hospital that has been treating cancer patients for over 60 years. Their approach combines targeted tumor therapies with immune system rebuilding, detoxification, and whole-body healing.
Her 21-day treatment plan includes:
- Tumor-targeted cytotoxic infusions
- Hyperthermia (heat therapy proven to kill cancer cells)
- Oxygen therapies
- Immune system restoration
- Low-dose chemotherapy as part of an integrated approach
- Daily cancer-specific supplements
- Detox and mineral replenishment
- Infrared therapy
This is not experimental or unproven. This is a comprehensive medical protocol delivered by board-certified oncologists in a fully equipped hospital. But because it is outside the U.S. system, insurance will not cover a single dollar.
The Financial Reality
Total treatment cost: $95,000
- Initial 21-day inpatient treatment: $42,000
- Follow-up visit after 3 months (12 days): $25,000
- Second follow-up visit: $28,000
This does not include travel costs to and from Tijuana, required scans and lab work, medications and supplements she will need at home, or lost income while she cannot work.
Lee Ann's first cancer battle nearly wiped them out financially. They trusted that things would work out then, and they did. But this time, they cannot do it alone.
She Cannot Complete Treatment Until Funds Are Secured
Lee Ann is scheduled to begin treatment as soon as December 23, 2025. However, she cannot complete it until sufficient funds are secured. Every day of delay is a day cancer continues to spread.
She will pull from every resource available to make sure she can start as soon as possible, but doing so will create devastating financial strain on her and David for years to come.
Here is how your gift makes a difference:
- $25 covers one day of essential supplements
- $50 helps with travel and lodging costs
- $100 provides medications for home recovery
- $500 covers specialized lab work and imaging
- $1,000+ directly funds life-saving treatment protocols
We have already raised $20,000 thanks to generous early supporters. We need to raise $75,000 more to give Lee Ann the treatment she needs without burying her family in debt.
Why This Matters
Lee Ann is not just my employee. She is not just a member of my church. She is family.
I am Pastor Adam Leavins. I own Patriot Roofing where Lee Ann has served faithfully. I also have the honor of being her pastor at Unlimited Church in Maumelle.
She has served others her entire life. She has worked hard, loved deeply, and never asked for anything. Her husband has spent his career protecting our community as a police officer. They are good people who deserve our support in their darkest hour.
Every dollar you give removes financial stress so she can focus on healing. It gives her access to treatment that could extend her life. It shows her she does not have to walk through this valley alone. And it honors the life she has lived in service to others.
If you cannot give, please share this campaign. Your network might include someone who has been touched by Lee Ann's kindness or who simply wants to help a family in crisis.
A Message from Lee Ann
"I want to live. I want to fight this disease with everything in me. I want to see my son continue to build his life. I want to watch Shepherd, Sophie, and Laine grow into the amazing people they are meant to be. I want more years with my husband, who has given his life to serving our community and our family. I believe that things can work together for good. I am choosing to stay hopeful. I trust that this story is not over yet. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for standing with me in this fight."
